Vintage Shirley Temple 16” Doll Tagged Starburst Dress Curly Top w/Pin 1930s. She is one of many from my 30+ years of collecting Shirley Temple memorabilia.
This is a beautiful Shirley. Her composition is in good condition but she does have crazing throughout and a small crack behind her right ear.  She also had her toenails polished at some point in time.  Her fingernails may have also been polished but it has been removed.
Her hair is thick, full and curly, but it could use a combing.  She sleep eyes that are also flirty (moving side to side).  They appear to have been replaced, are set back and make noise as they move.  They also have pinholes in them where someone may have oiled them to clear the cloudiness, but they are crackled.   Her eyelashes are sparse.  Her stringing is good and she stands perfectly on the stand (which is included).
Shirley wears the Starburst Dress from the 1935 movie Curly Top. The Ideal Tag can be seen attached to the dress under the left arm.  The dress is in good condition but it has small tears on the back - one near the sleeve seam and the others near the hem.  There is a small dirt spot.  Refer to the close up photo.  None of these show when displayed.  The ribbons are faded.  It has the typical 2-button closure in the back.  Her onesie is also in good condition, no rips or tears and has the typical safety pin closure.  Her shoes are pink oil cloth.
She wears her original Ideal Shirley Temple Pin, which can be authenticated by the markings around the rim “Ideal Novelty & Toy Co” on the top, “Her Signature” on the bottom below her name and “Made in U.S.A” on the side.
She has been kept in a display case in my smoke-free home for many, many years. I am downsizing so it is time for her to go to a new home to be loved as I have loved her. She is fully marked on her head and torso.
