    Description

I am downsizing and must sell all of my 12” Shirley Temple doll outfits.  This week and the weeks to come, I will be listing Shirley outfits produced from 1960-1961—many are complete or near complete and I will be listing them in order by Ideal’s stock number.
To find them, keep checking my Seller’s List:
    https://www.ebay.com/sch/antiq45/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
If you don’t want to wait, you can request that I go ahead and list a certain outfit that you are interested in earlier than its stock # would indicate.  It may take me a week or two to set up and post the requested listing.
    I do combine shipping and
if you win more than one auction
, I can ship them in the same package—
so check with me before you pay
and I will send your invoice with an adjusted shipping cost.  If you give me enough time, you can also contact me with your zip code and the items you are interested in and I can send you a quote for shipping all in one package.
    5 day auction—
This velvet dress was one of the outfits made by the Ideal Company for their 1958-1962, 12” Shirley Temple doll.  It is outfit #9715, labeled ‘Velvet dress’ on page 160 of Tonya Bervaldi-Camaratta’s reference book,
The Complete guide to Shirley Temple Dolls and Collectibles
    in
    2006.
She states that the dress was produced in 1960 and came with a signature purse and values it at (2006).  She pictures the dress in pink and blue versions, each with a different type of lace trim across the bottom of the bodice.  Other reference books that this outfit can be found in are:
    Collector’s Guide to Ideal Dolls—Identification & Values
by Judith Izen in 1999 and
Shirley Temple Dolls and Collectibles—Second Series
by Patricia R. Smith in 1979.
This dark pink ('back in the day', we may have called it 'hot pink'), velvet dress has sheer white dotted Swiss fabric for the lace-trimmed puffed sleeves and attached bodice insert.  The sewn-in sleeves and insert make the velvet portion look like a jumper.  It’s tag is clean and crisp with only a little fraying on the end which could easily be trimmed.  The dress is in Excellent/Near Mint condition—clean with no damage to the velvet fabric, no stains, tears, holes or missing stitches and the square metal sewn-on snaps are securely attached.  This dress does
    not
look like it has been played with.  One thing I want to point out is that the two dresses that the author, Tonya Bervaldi-Camaratta, pictures as examples of this outfit, both have a flower appliqué.  This dress does not and there is no evidence that there ever was a flower appliqué on it (no stitch holes or extra thread hanging).  I have seen a few other examples of this dress on ebay that do not have the flower appliqué.
The signature purse is in Excellent condition with no tears and no damage in the painted graphic.  There is an extra dot of paint between the ‘h’ and the ‘T’.  From what the author above mentioned, I believe that this outfit is complete.
Because this outfit is so ‘dressy’, I added a pair of panties.  They are also in Excellent condition with clean and crisp fabric, stretchy/tight elastic and no stains, holes or tears.  Their only issue is some missing stitches at the top of the back seam that can be easily mended.
    ***
This dress has been in my collection for many years.  I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odors on it, but I cannot guarantee what environment it came from.  In my opinion, this collectable dress will make a nice addition to your collection—
it did in mine for many years!
